Dr Mah Boon Yih was appointed as a judge in Language Invention, Innovation & Design (LIID 2018) organised by Akademi Pengajian Bahasa, UiTM Shah Alam in conjuction with ILANNS 2018. As highlighted by the organiser, LIID 2018 is a platform for participants to highlight innovation, invention and design of high quality products in relation to language development. LIID 2018 aims to promote a language innovation and creativity culture among professionals, university students and students. Besides, this is also a good platform to highlight the new inventions in modern languages and applied linguistics, which the new designs and inventions are hoped to be commercialised at both national and international levels. Below is the third tip he would like to share to the fellow contestants based on his observation:
Besides "wow" factor, needs and values, the preparedness of solid evidences as the highlights to the judge including intellectual property ownership, high indexed publications, and previous awards related to the current product are essential for different categories of scoring purpose.
