A WeCWI project entitled Towards Critical and Eloquent Achievers: E-learning Empowerment through WeCWI Integrated Solutions was awarded a gold award in The International Conference and Exposition on Inventions by Institutions of Higher Learning 2015 (PECIPTA 2015) on the 4th – 6th December 2015 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Dr. Mah Boon Yih was the head of this project together with his fellow team members, including Dr Irfan Naufal Umar, Dr Rushita Ismail, Rasaya A/L Marimuthu, and Liaw Shun Chone. The PECIPTA 2015 Gold Award is the 3rd medal won by WeCWI as the international recognition of an innovative product in education and human development. PECIPTA is a biennial programme organised by Ministry of Education together with the selected university since 2001 with the aim to showcase the creations and innovative products and service from the local and international institutions of higher education. PECIPTA also creates networking and collaboration opportunities for prototype development and product commercialisation.
With the theme Innovating Today for Tomorrow as highlighted by the organiser, PECIPTA 2015 is set to spur the nation’s advancement through research and development. To showcase the creations and innovations derived from research and development activities, PECIPTA 2015 offers a platform for researchers to market their commercial products and the expertise. Besides, this event also aims to invigorate the tenacity of industrial sector and community on the local research ability as well as to promote strategic networking and collaboration between academia and industry.
